Back to Old School Soul:»Motown» is my newest project,20 years in the making. As the name states, a return to my musical roots: Blues, R&B, Gospel, JazzSoul/Black music. The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye ,The temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips all heavily shaped my musical tastes.The Funk Brothers have been guiding me my entire musical life. After watching «Standing in the Shadows» of Motown a few years ago, I really realized even more how influential these musicians and the music were to me and I am now paying my tribute to Motown. Not because it is trendy but because it's basically the music I have loved and still love to play. The musicians I have chosen to bring into this project share this love of tradition and Motown. Folks whose art talks to and moves me.
