Die tschechische Sängerin Martina Barta wird im Rahmen ihres Konzerts mit dem Titel „What The World Needs Now Is Love“ // Tribute to Burt Bacharach die bekanntesten Welthits eines des erfolgreichsten Songschreibers des 20. Jahrhunderts präsentieren. Zusammen mit ihrem Jazz Trio bestehend aus den besten Musikern der Berliner Musikszene erklingen während des Konzertabends weltbekannte Melodien wie zB. „The Look of Love“, „Alfie“, „Close To You“ in eigenen Arrangements.
Die Sängerin Martina Barta gehört mit ihrem einzigartigen Gesangsart zu einer der anerkanntesten Sängerinnen ihrer Generation. Geboren in Prag, lebt sie seit 2011 in Berlin, wo sie am Jazz-Institut Gesang studierte und seit 2021 zum Teil auch in New York. 2017 vertrat sie ihr Heimatland, die Tschechische Republik beim Eurovision Song Contest in Kiew. Seit 2019 tritt sie außerdem regelmäßig im Duo mit dem legendären amerikanischen Vibraphonisten David Friedman auf. Darüber hinaus konzertiert sie mit ihrer Schwester, der erfolgreichen tschechischen Pianistin und Komponistin Kristina Barta, mit der sie u.a. 2020 am Album „Love and Passion“ (Alessa Records) als Co-Autorin mitgearbeitet hat. Seit September 2021 ist Martina Barta als DAAD Stipendiatin im Masterstudienprogramm an der renommierten Musikakademie – Manhattan School of Music in NYC, wo sie u.a. JazzmusikerInnen wie Buster Williams, Ingrid Jensen und Theo Bleckmann zusammenarbeitet.

Kristina Barta
Fiery, expressive, eloquent and stubborn, wrote one critic of Czech pianist Kristina Barta. Originally admitted to the Prague Conservatoire as an oboist, she has held the piano chair in the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra and has won several prizes.
Kristina Barta is internationally renowned composer and pianist. After studying classical music and composition at the Prague Conservatory, this native Czech pianist graduated from the Academy of Music Arts in Prague, specialising in jazz piano.
Barta is constantly touring and she has played a variety of well-known venues including Jazzahead! (Germany), Bimhuis (Netherlands), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Steyr Jazz Festival (Austria), V4 Jazz Festival (Hungary), Strasbourg’s Jazzdor (France), D’Jazz Nevers (France), A Trane (Ger) and many others.
Barta won a 1st place in the composer’s jazz competition that took place in Czech Republic in 2016. Her trio got into the finals of 2016 Euroradio Jazz Competition in Netherland. Kristina is also a winner of the 2017 Powiew Mlodegu Jazzu in Poland, where she received an individual price for her piano playing.
Barta released her first album EMA29 on austrian Alessa Records label in 2017, followed by Love and Passion in 2021. Barta is currently performing with her quartet, with whom she will record a new album in collaboration with a Slovenian world-renown saxophonist Jure Pukl.

Wer sich mit der Berliner Jazz-Szene beschäftigt, stolpert unweigerlich über den Namen Niklas Lukassen. absolvierte sein Studium am Jazz Institut Berlin und Manhattan School of Music in NYC. Er überzeugt mit einem besonderen lyrischen Sinn gleichermaßen auf dem Kontrabass und auf der Bassgitarre und ist zudem Komponist und Bandleader. Musikalische Wegbegleiter waren bzw. sind Mike Stern, Joe Lovano, Oz Noy und Sean Wayland.

Singer Martina Barta with her unique singing style belongs to one of the most recognized singers of her generation. In 2017 she represented her home country, the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
