Swedish-Norwegian drummer Anton Eger returns to Berlin’s A-Trane for a five-night residency filled with explosive energy, bold grooves, and genre-blurring improvisation.
Well known to Berlin audiences through his work with Phronesis, JazzKamikaze, HEL Trio, Æ and long-time collaborator Marius Neset, Eger has built a reputation across Europe for his fearless fusion of jazz, rock, electronics, and pure rhythmic invention. His drumming is both precise and wild — always pushing the music somewhere unexpected.
Winner of Best Jazz Musician at the Danish Music Awards and a recipient of a Danish Arts Foundation grant for his acclaimed debut album Æ, Anton Eger is one of Europe’s most inventive and in-demand drummers.
For this residency, Eger brings together a fresh and rotating lineup of handpicked musicians from across the European scene. Each night will be unique, built on deep interplay, high-energy spontaneity, and the thrill of musical risk-taking.

Die 21-Jährige ist die neueste Entdeckung der lebendigen Londoner Jazz-Szene, die seit Jahren weltweit für Aufsehen sorgt. Und trotz ihres jungen Alters hat sie bereits enorm viel erreicht: Gewinnerin des Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Finalistin bei den Jazz FM Awards und der BBC Young Jazz Musician Competition, Konzerte auf und in allen namhaften britischen Festivals und Clubs, mehrfacher Headliner in Londoner Institutionen wie dem Jazz Café oder dem Ronnie Scott’s und Auftritte auf internationalen Festivals. Heute ist sie wieder im A-Trane.

Gwilym Simcock:
Gwilym  Simcock, a member of the last Pat Metheny Quartet , is a distinguished composer and arranger, and a lecturer at the Royal Music Academy in London. Gwilym is one of the most gifted pianists and imaginative composers on the European scene.  He moves effortlessly between jazz and classical music, with a ‘harmonic sophistication and subtle dovetailing of musical traditions’. Gwilym has been hailed as a pianist of ‘exceptional’, ‘brilliant’ and ‘dazzling’ ability, and his music has been widely acclaimed as ‘engaging, exciting, often unexpected, melodically enthralling, complex yet hugely accessible’, and above all ‘wonderfully optimistic’. He has lived in Berlin for four years.

Josh Ginsburg:
Joshua Ginsburgis a regular fixture on the world’s concertstages; his bass playing has been described as a “a rock ofcounterpoint, funk and swing.”Financial Times(London)In the past few years, Joshua has been performinginternationally with bands led by Kurt Rosenwinkel, DavidFriedman, Greg Osby, Jeremy Pelt, E.J. Strickland, GeorgeColligan, Melissa Aldana, Jure Pukl, Logan Richardson,Diego Piñera, Tino Derado, and Aruán Ortiz, among others.Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Josh lived for 20 yearsin Brooklyn, New York, where he performed regularly withcountless influential musicians. He currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
